Laboratory of Divergent Narratives is a Mexican non-profit organization made up of artists, researchers, and activists from the global South interested in social transformation through collective artistic experience, symbolic creation committed to its context, and multidisciplinary research into new possibilities for inhabiting and thinking the world.
We believe in CREATIVITY as the capital of humanity and in ART as a process capable of giving meaning to the experiences of individuals and their communities, in its healing possibilities and its power as a method for producing knowledge.
Our practice is based on deep listening to our environment, on a respectful approach and from a HUMAN RIGHTS perspective to communities least benefited by narratives and power structures, and on the creation of loving networks of INTERdisciplinary, TRANSfeminist, and ANTIcapitalist/ableist/racist collaboration. The critical strategies of contemporary art, the technical possibilities of multimedia, the anthropology of experience, and ancestral knowledge are some of our main tools.
