The Jalisco House of Culture provided its stage for the festival, opening with the wonderful inauguration where the incredible ensemble "Ksumi Trio" (Patricia “Pilla” Reyes - Piano, Pilar Sanchez - Double Bass, Reona Sugimoto - Drums, Special Guest: Monserrat Arias - Tenor Saxophone) delighted us with music accompanying the visuals created by artist Adiós Al Futuro, a display of a series of portraits of our friends from Sombrilla Roja MX, which gave way to the performance by artist Jessbeth Karelly aka Gorgy, mother of KHO Medussa, who showcased her talent in a series of dance styles that combined in a rich exploration of the diversity of gender identities.
Finally, the team from Xochicatzin TLAYOLLI offered us an ancestral drink and deep knowledge about the tradition of our ancestral communities.
